Note

You are messaging with a real copine! This has helped us keep more jobs in the area, and we love having direct contact with you. Send us a text and wait for a reply. It could take up to 24hrs to hear back. In high season it could take longer, but we do respond daily and will get to every message. Try not to follow up, because we go to the oldest message first. This comes with the occasional error, so be sure to double check all info sent and received. Thank you!

A Brief History

La Copine began on a food cart in Philadelphia in 2010 after meeting with Kris Chau, she drew their logo in a journal over blood orange margaritas in a South Philly cantina. Nikki and Claire moved to CA in 2012, so they could legally get married and in 2015, they tied the knot. A special invitation to house sit in Pioneertown would change the course of their lives. It was free to get in to Joshua Tree National Park that Earth Day and a double rainbow appeared signaling the two to go explore. A fateful meeting at the Integratron deepened their call to the desert, as they were told about a nearby restaurant for sale, and the need for more places to eat in the area. Sitting outside the chain link fence that once surrounded the property, Nikki and Claire decided to do it. One month later, they moved to the desert and the rest is herstory...

Songs of La Copine

Music by C'est Claire, the nom de plume for singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Claire Wadsworth, owner/operator of La Copine.  “Claire finds inspiration in the desert and at her restaurant, it’s her ‘storytelling laboratory’…On the surface, she’s checking reservations and greeting customers, but, behind the eyes, she’s a collector of anything she can use in her songs.” -- Benjamin Goulet for Desert Magazine
